Wow. That’s the best word to describe this episode. Wow. The hometown dates went well. I really like Reid, but I have to admit that I’m not sure the spark is entirely there, though it did get stronger after the hometown date. Jesse was very cute with his family and Jillian seemed to fit in well with his family and Reid’s and Kiptyn’s and Michael’s. It was quite funny how Kiptyn’s family poked fun at Jillian’s hot tub scene, and she even mentioned that we may see another similar scene. However, Kiptyn did point out that he would not be ready for marriage at the end of this process which is the very thing that Jillian wants. More and more, I’m thinking he’s not right for her. I really like Michael. He’s growing on me a lot. He’s so head over heels for her!
So, now on to the more dramatic elements of this episode. Jake returns to tell Jillian that Wes has a girlfriend named Laurel. I repeat: Wes is a pig and the viewers are going to see that and it’s not going to help your career but hurt it, Mr. Pig! Poor Jake. I really think he is genuinely concerned about Jillian and really trying to help. Wes wouldn’t stop lying to Jillian to cover his tracks, but he was quick to get angry about the accusation. Me thinks he doth protest too loudly. Still, Jillian decided to visit the family and it turns out they are all very good liars as well. I don’t like any of them! Wes prepped them no doubt. I have no doubt that he is there for the wrong reasons and he probably does have a girlfriend. We even see in the previews that he says “my girlfriend – I mean, my ex girlfriend.” Such a pig.
And then the next shocker. Ed is back! I know she likes Ed, but I don’t see it. I am not a huge fan of him. I know what he did was hard, but he made the decision and Jillian shouldn’t have to have even less time to figure out her life. That’s not fair to her and it’s not fair to the other guys. I think she should have turned him down. Instead, she turned down Michael (who accepted defeat gracefully but was so heartbroken) and Jesse who I had started liking more and more. And she kept Wes. Jillian, you’re making a really dumb move here! Sure, I’m only watching, not living it, and I’m not perfect either, but come on! He doesn’t even look sincere when he lies to you!
I hope she dumps him next time. We’ve seen teasers about him on the overnight dates so hopefully he won’t be around past that. Still in the running are Reid, Kiptyn, Wes, and Ed. Right now, my money is on Reid, but I’ve never had my opinion change so often during a season, and I haven’t had my front runners kicked off so early! Needless to say, she’s keeping us on her toes. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
